So why do so few people do it? Because they go in thinking the content of the test will be identical to UWorld. Instead, expect the unexpected. Use UWorld or other QBanks to simulate never-before-seen questions. I only did 2 Qbanks total.

I could also remember the flaw in my reasoning the first time. Yes, I may have improved my knowledge slightly by repeating the question. UWorld comes as close as any. However, if I were to do only one question bank, I would still choose UWorld. High-scorers recognize that memorization itself is insufficient.

They must learn how to apply that knowledge to interpret the test questions correctly. The latter group sees the QBank merely as a means to an end. In my experience, this group does much better.

I completely agree. Verdict: Definite fact. Again, like much of the dogma, the answer will depend on what you believe the test to be. If so, then doing UWorld right before your exam may or may not be as important.

You will likely want to use UWorld as the final question bank before you take your test. Robust, very nice. Totally free but requires a login.

Registration required, pretty robust software tutor mode, tracks prior questions, etc. Many questions are more on the Step 2 side of things, but an impressive collection nonetheless. The questions are not step-style but rather content review. There are also no puns or goofy diagrams like the book series.

There are 20 modules of 20 questions for questions. Wiki Test Prep [now defunct, but with questions available as a pdf for download] is was a student-written qbank with over questions with explanations.

The site is great, and you can browse questions by keyword, flag questions, and create your own tests. It also lets you know what percentage of students answer the question correctly, which is interesting.

The questions are in clinical-vignette board format.

The site design is bit odd, but it works.Ultimately, your preparations and how you use these resources will depend on your fundamental beliefs about the USMLEs. What do you think? Many questions are more on the Step 2 side of things, but an impressive collection nonetheless.
